net-mix.org provides free hosting for dj promo mixes. To get involved, sign up by following the 'join' link on the home page.
Once you have created a dj account, you can upload mixes by following the 'upload' link. You can provide mixes in either ogg or mp3 format, or both. All mixes are moderated, and you will receive an email if your mix is accepted for inclusion on net-mix.org. You will also receive an email if your mix is rejected.
There are over 10 volunteeer moderators whose job is to moderate all mixes. We are sorry if your mix isn't accepted, but hopefully you will have more luck next time. Please check the following bullet points to increase your chance of getting a mix accepted:
- Tracklisting: If you do not supply a tracklisting then your mix will simply be deleted :D If your tracklisting is very short this will probably not do you any favours either.
- Bitrate: Default lame (128 kb/s) or ogg (quality 3) encoding is acceptable, do not use higher than this.
- Length: Mixes should be over 30 minutes long, preferably around an hour.
- Style: check the musical style of your mix, and see if there is similar stuff on the site. If not then maybe there won't be any moderators who will like it...
- Mixing: if there are numourous crappy mixes, then probably your mix will be trashed unless you are saved by the most blinding tunes in the universe
- Quality: if your mix is distorted, or in some other way screwed up, it will probably get binned :)
