| Description | At the age of 16 I went to the first edition of Impulz in The Netherlands. When I saw Carl Cox working the crowd, I knew I wanted to become a DJ.
I started with a friend (DJ Mortek) and we taught ourselves how to mix. The style I started out with was techno (Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Secret Cinema). I played that for about 3 years (I still do sometimes), but after that, I started leaning towards the minimal scene. At that time there was no minimal scene where I lived, so it was hard to get others interested in the style. Now it’s starting to get bigger and bigger, and is starting to be a part of the dance scene in the big cities of the Dutch dance scene. In these years I created my own style, a style I have never heard anywhere else. This is a mixture of Minimal (Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Robag Wrühme), Deep Techno (James Ruskin, Dub Kult, Jacek Sienkiewics) and Industrial Off-Beat (Surgeon, Reeko, Oscar Mulero). With all of this mixed together, it becomes a unique style that is perfect for the dance floor. But sometimes I just like to play pure minimal. So be sure to check out some of my DJ sets. |
